150 singers of the Mystic Chorale, led by Nick Page, return to Cary Hall to perform the chorus’ much-anticipated spring concert. Celebrating the joy of making music, THE FIDDLE SINGS features songs exploring Swing, Klezmer, Bluegrass, Blues, Dixieland, and Baroque music along with pieces from Eastern Europe and South Africa. The program ranges from the jubilance of Cat Stevens’ If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out to J. S. Bach’s Jesu, Joy Of Man’s Desiring to Yidl Mit'n Fidl to a Serbian folksong to the upbeat Spiritual Little David, Play on Your Harp to James Taylor’s New Hymn.
Featured guests include remarkable fiddler and singer/songwriter, Joyce Andersen, Lexington’s own clarinetist extraordinaire Billy Novick, and the always-amazing Jonathan Singleton on piano and leading the band.
Founder and Artistic Director, Nick Page, invites you to “come experience what the Mystic Chorale does best… singing from our hearts, singing as community, making the world a better place, one song at a time!”
