Lexington Symphony “Fresh Perceptions”

Prokofiev | The Prodigal Son
Mendelssohn | Violin Concerto, Op. 64
- Hana Chang, Violin
Franck | Symphony in D

This concert features three works that take a fresh look at the music of their time. The Prodigal Son was the creative spark of a collaboration that would last for years to come and would forge new paths for Prokofiev and ballet choreographer George Balanchine. César Franck’s Symphony in D combines musical styles never heard before, with luxurious, deeply emotional melodies. Hana Chang, our featured young violinist from Lexington is a rising star, winning accolades internationally.
